Counterfire meeting
South East region Counterfire is pleased to welcome Shabbir Lakha to a meeting at St Saviour’s Church Hall (Eastbourne) on 3 August at 6.30pm. Shabbir is an activist in The People’s Assembly, a Stop the War Coalition officer and a Counterfire member, and will be giving a talk and answering questions on the current wave of strikes, from a strategic socialist perspective.
The right of working people to strike is under threat from an increasingly authoritarian right-wing government.
The Tories have legalised strike-breaking with agency workers, and Conservative Party leadership hopeful Liz Truss is threatening to crackdown on ‘militant’ unions attempting to obtain a square deal for workers.
You are invited to attend this free public event, to join the debate and to fight back
